The TPC conducts research aimed at understanding the distinct molecular and cellular characteristics of tumors, with the goal of creating cancer models for each patient. By analyzing these unique signatures, the TPC provides each patient with a cancer prognosis and a personalized therapy recommendation that can significantly extend their lifespan. The overarching goal of the TPC's research is to transform cancer from a fatal disease into a manageable condition.
In the first phase the TPC established a multi-omics tumor profiling platform for clinical decison support (proof-of-principle study). In the next phase Clinical studies will be performed to test whether the biomarkers derived from the first study improve the clinical outcome compared to standard treatment.
